With a break in my schedule after the delivery of the Koxinga masters, I made use of the opportunity to move from the 32bit to 64bit version of Windows 7. This PC has had 6GB ram from the start, but I could never make use of it in the 32bit OS. I’ve moved to the latest version of Cakewalk’s Sonar X1, also running in its native 64bit version. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to connect Reason (32bit only at the moment) to Sonar X1 64bit, but then I came accross the aptly named Rewire VST. It’s working like a charm for me.
To stress test the new setup and to get up to speed with Sonar X1, I’ve been doing lots of mixing on my Aerobium side-project – more on that later.
So far, so good… the most annoying niggle at this stage is that I can’t get my Lexmark printer installed. I may have to get another ;^/
