This week my thoughts are with everyone in Japan who suffered through the most devastating earthquake and tsunami – it’s all over the news here in Taiwan, and feels very close to home. Japan is our neighbor to the north, of course. I’d never experienced an earthquake before I moved to Taiwan. I’ve only experienced comparatively tiny ones here thankfully, but it’s humbling to remember that the earth can shake us all off as easily as a dog shakes its coat.
